June 23: Last night two baby chicks hatched out of their little eggs. It is amazing to watch the hens helping each other...they have a system. I told you guys that each egg is a little miracle….just like seeds and blessings.  Nurture them and thank God. Mary Ruth

June 15: On Saturday we celebrated my grandson's seventh birthday. What a neat party! Water slide and moon walk with hamburgers and hot dogs....lots of laughter and fun. Thanks to all the Brazoria County folks who made a little Utah boy happy. In lieu of gifts, he opted for outgrown shoes for his Uncle Doug to take to Guatemala. over 50 pair!  Mary Ruth.
 

06/09/2010: This afternoon we cut a ribbon on the new Pearland Westside Library, a branch of the Brazoria County Library System. Thanks to the City of Pearland and the Friends of PWL for the partnership, they have been great to work with and....we have just begun!  Mary Ruth.

06/04/2010: Yesterday was the 4th annual Brazoria County Agriculture tour. We live in such an incredibly diverse county! Rice fields, cotton and cattle, herbicide/pesticide/fertilizer industries and lots of folks working to make sure our future has an adequate fresh water supply. Mary Ruth.
 

05/31/2010: Thanks to all the veterans who held services and ceremonies today to honor those who lost their lives in wars securing and preserving our freedoms . VFW8551 came to our Brazoria Cemetery and 5 others West of the Brazos. Remember veterans every day in your heart and when you see one, say "Thanks, Vet".  Mary Ruth.
